1. What did you learn about painting? I feel like I have learned so much throughtout this painting unit. I am completely inlove with painting, and even though I paint a lot outside of school I feel like I have learned a lot from this unit. I usually do not use watercolor paint, but I found that watercolor paint is very fun to work with. I think that watercolor blends well together and you can do a lot with watercolor. I learned that you can put salt on it to make a cool design. Also, I learned that you can use markers to blend with watercolors to make a nice painting. I use acrylic paint a lot, and I learned that brush strokes are important and you can make a lot of different textures with acrylic paint. My favorite paint to use is acrylic paint. In conclusion, I feel like I have leaned a lot about painting during this unit, and I am happy to be able to use some of the techniques I learned during this unit.

1. How have your artistic skills grown during the first few weeks of art? During the first few weeks of art I didn't know much about different techniques. I have learned a lot more about art, for example shading is a technique that i have learned to use throughout art. I believe I have grown a lot as an artist because I know how to shade with colored pencils and take the idea of two characters and making them one. Certain skills such as using charcol have helped me grow as an artist. 2. How has your thinking about what makes art original changed during this unit? I have learned that great artist steal. The fact of ever thinking that artist steal was weird to me, but I know now that artist take a previous idea and change it to make it their own. There is no such thing as original art because art can be traced back for many years. All artist ideas came from a past artist, but good artist just take their idea and make it better. 3. What successes or challenges have you had while working on this unit? Some successes that I have had during this unit include shading with the colored pencil. I feel like learning how to do this was very helpful. Also, the fact that i was able to combine two ideas and transform them to make one idea. Some challenges that i have had during this unit include drawing the sign language hands. I found those exercises to be very difficult due to the fact that drawing the fingers was hard for me. Another challenge that i have had during this unit was drawing a realistic eye. I found drawing the eye to be hard because of all the detail you had to have to make the eye look realistic.
