It was so fun and easy to use once you get the hang of it. I now know how to use the pottery wheel, which I wasn't sure I would learn how to do. There are still a lot of things i need to learn about the pottery wheel, but i definitely like using it. I also now the importance of clay tools. 2. What is your least favorite material to work with and why? How did you deal with it, what didn’t you like about it. Please explain.
My least favorite material to work with was paper-mâché. This was my least favorite material because it was hard to use. Once you added water to the mixture you had to use it fast or else it would dry up. Also it was very hard to smooth out while wet, but then when it dried it was had to sand. So overall I could never get a nice finish on my piece because it was so bumpy from the paper-mâché.

3. Describe a project where the choices you made regarding material, size, technique, etc helped enhance this project.
For the cardboard room project it was important to think about size and technique because without it, the piece wouldn't have worked out. For my cardboard room I had to take everyday things you would find in a room and miniaturize it. So I had to pay a lot of attention to size in order to make the room look realistic. Also I had to think of different ways I could use cardboard in order to have texture and movement in my piece.

INSPIRED artist 2
Steel Animal Sculptures by Byeong Doo Moon at ‘Sculpture by the Sea’
Korean artist Byeong Doon Moon creates sculptures of animals using stainless steel wires. The peacock sculpture by the artist is titled 'Our memory in you place' while the deer sculpture which was created in 2011 by the artist is titled 'I have been dreaming to be a tree". Both the sculptures were featured as part of Sculpture by the Sea annual event in Sydney.
Beyeong Doon Moon is very inspiring because I have used wire before and know that it is not easy, so I find it amazing how much detail he was able to get using wire. Also, the shape and location of the art is very cool. Both pieces are very eye catching and fun to look at.

vessel
1. For the triangular one and the square one I used a slab of clay to make them. For the circular one I made it on the wheel. One they were done being made I let them dry and then they were fired. One they were fired I glazed them and then they were fired again. I still have to glaze the last one.
2. I had difficulties with the circular one because it was hard making something that small on the wheel. Also the top park kept braking so I ended up makeing that separately and then attaching it to the bottom. The triangular one was pretty easy to shape but the square on was hard because of the shape. I was hate to get it even. But i just tried me best and i'm happy with how it came out.
3. I like the size of all of them and found them successful as a group. I love how cute they are and the glazes came out really nice.
4. I created this piece because I saw a series of vases on pinterest and thought they would look cute small.

installation
1. The idea of the installation was to tie string in a way the the people from school could put there thoughts on our piece answering the question.
2. The installation is successful because you can see all the different layers of string. Also, you are able to put abbot up answering the question which makes it interactive with the whole school.
3. If we were to change it I think it would be a good idea to hang the string from the ceiling if we could have. It would cool really cool if the notes were hanging above you as to walk under it.

Main relief project
1. I used a book and an exacto knife to carve the book.
2. I found the design and overall carving part of my piece very successful. I really like how the trees came out, also the 3D effect is really nice. I like how you can see the different layers in my piece, I think it makes the piece more interesting. If I had the chance I would have spent more time carving because some of the pages ripped because I was cutting too fast. So I would have slowed down in order to make the cuts more neat.
3. My subject relates to the theme of nature because I carved three trees into the book to make it look like a mini forest which directly relates to nature.

Inspired artist
Scoot Weaver uses a lot of toothpicks and glue to make his sculptures. I was unable to find the location. This is inspiring because it must take a lot of patients and time to make a sculpture like that. Also it looks really good. I always have dreams of making art that stands out and gets people talking but I always second guess myself and feel like I always need a reference but I feel like with his media he used a reference but make it his own. I like all the detail he was able to get considering he used toothpicks. Also I would never think to use toothpicks for a project so I think it's cool how he thought outside the box and used toothpicks to make his sculpture.
mini tile
I loved working with the clay for this mini tile. It was fun to add all the detail and really make the piece my own. I had fun using the glaze and loved the end result. I feel like melting the glass added a nice touch, so overall I am happy with my piece.
My Process:
So first I cut a 3x3 square out of clay and then traces my design onto the clay. Then I started carving into the clay and made my giraffe. Then I fired it and when it came our I glazed it and fired it again.
